Application instructions

Applying for a right-of-occupancy apartment is easy with these instructions.

How to apply for a right-of-occupancy apartment

The first thing you need to do is apply for running number from the city or municipality. After that, you can use our housing search to search for and submit an application for your favourite apartments.

In order to receive a right-of-occupancy apartment, you must be 18 years of age, and you cannot have an owner-occupied dwelling in the same area or sufficient funds to buy an owner-occupied dwelling. Income does not affect your eligibility for the apartment, and the wealth limits do not apply to people over the age of 55.

1. Apply for a right-of-occupancy running number

The right-of-occupancy running number is available from the housing office of the city or municipality, and you can usually also apply for the number online.

2. Select the apartments and submit a housing application

Check out our available apartments and submit a housing application for the apartments of your choice. You can also submit an application for our vacant apartments or choose apartments that are covered by a contract.

3. Accept the offer

We will offer you an apartment that matches your application as soon as it is or is about to become available. If the apartment interests you, you can accept the offer, it does not yet bind you to buy the apartment.

The apartment is reserved for the applicant with the smallest right-of-occupancy running number. Before signing the contract, the city or municipality checks the eligibility requirements for right-of-occupancy housing and accepts the applicant as a right-of-occupancy resident.

You must submit the following attachments in order to be approved as resident, which we will request separately after the offer phase. You can collect them in advance to speed up the approval process.

  • The persons moving into the apartment and their assets. You will receive a form in connection with the housing offer from the sales negotiator, who will instruct you if necessary.
  • A copy of the previous year’s pre-completed tax return. You can find it by logging into the My Tax service and selecting -> Mailbox> – Pre-completed tax return (pdf).
